Plan your Florida vacation for the type of experience, region and climate. Our summers are hot and humid, which make a vacation day at a theme park an exhausting (but rewarding) experience. If you vacation at Florida's theme parks in the summer, consider going early in the day, take a break at mid-day, and return early evening to beat some of the heat. Also be aware that many theme parks have shorter operating hours during winter months.
Florida summer also brings its rainy season, particularly in central
Florida. Most of this rain activity is in the form of afternoon
thundershowers and is usually over in an hour or two, but they can
be quite intense, so be prepared.
For many, a vacation during our fall (autumn) weather is ideal for
water sport activities as the water is still warm but the days are
not so hot. Golfing is active year round, but summer, mid-days
are difficult for golfers.
Winters
are comparatively mild and represent a good time for active, non-water
vacations and outdoor activities (although some accustomed to cold
climates find vacations on our Florida beaches just fine in the winter!). Winter
also represents the peak tourism season for most areas bringing larger
crowds and longer lines at popular vacation destinations and theme
parks.
Regardless, pick your favorite vacation season and enjoy the best
Florida has to offer. See our Florida
Weather page for more information regarding seasonal weather.
